Outcome: Sugar investigation and Autumn 1 consolidation: skeletons, muscles and nutrition.

Equipment: Four fictional or photocopied nutrition-label cards on the same per-100 g basis; number line; results strip; pencil; optional clean empty packets as visual references.

Equipment: Skeleton or labelled diagram; vertebrate/invertebrate cards; safe card-and-split-pin arm model; nutrition/body-job cards; food-group mats; simple food-chain cards; tiered checkpoint sheet.

Rock Evidence Lab: Look Before You Label

Outcome: Compare and group rocks by their appearance and simple properties.

Equipment: Six teacher-pre-screened coded educational rock specimens or macro cards; white trays; hand lenses; feature tags; two hoops or sorting mats; Rock Comparison Ticket.

Outcome: Compare and group rocks by their appearance and simple properties.

Equipment: Coded rock specimens or macro cards from W9A; yes/no mats; criterion cards for crystals, grains, bands/planes and holes; Mystery T; Sorting Key Case Card.

Rock Hardness: Mark or Groove?

Outcome: Rocks: test hardness.

Equipment: Two teacher-pretested coded dry rock samples; stable trays; secured blunt scratch jig or teacher demonstration; fixed guide; wipes; hand lens; result card; eye protection where required by local assessment.

Outcome: Rocks: test hardness.

Equipment: Four teacher-pretested coded dry samples; stable individual trays; secured blunt scratch jig or teacher demonstration; fixed guide; wipes; hand lens; four-row result table; eye protection where assessed.

Outcome: Plan a simple fair test on rocks; pilot the method ready for the full investigation.

Method Pilot: Test the Test

Outcome: Pilot and revise a simple fair-test method ready for the full rock investigation.

Equipment: One clearly labelled staff-prepared practice rig or fixed pilot log; stable tray; 5 mL needle-free tool; 120-second timer; collector; wipes; method V1/V2 sheet; readiness card.
