Teacher Implementation Guide · Weeks 9–14

Six one-file, offline-first, 40-minute Geography lessons.

Before the lesson

  1. Open START_HERE.html and select the week.
  2. Check the lesson’s Source/Data Ready drawer and the printed learner route.
  3. Replace embedded rehearsal material only with centre-approved, age-appropriate sources carrying producer, date, origin, scale/method and rights/use.
  4. Agree access and response mode privately. Keep reading, sensory, motor and navigation access even as content prompts fade.

Predictable 40-minute cycle

Arrival → Starter → I Do → We Do → I Do 2 → We Do 2 → Independent → Exit. W9–W13 protect 16 independent minutes; W14 protects 20. The timer labels are planning allocations, not pupil countdowns.

Keyboard: Left/Right or Page Up/Page Down moves slides; Home/End jumps; Escape closes teacher panels. Hash links such as #slide-7 open the requested slide.

Least-prompt first

Wait/re-read → point to evidence → offer two choices → model the first process step → transcribe the learner’s exact words. Record the highest content prompt, not routine access. If regulation or reading load blocks entry, change format before reducing Geography demand. W14 protected exception: the normal content-prompt ladder is suspended during the 20-minute outcome; only the pre-agreed access contract applies.

Constructed material

CONSTRUCTED CLASSROOM RESOURCE: This fictional composite is inspired by the broad Teesside setting. It is not official data, is not to scale and must not be used for navigation, safety or real-world planning.

The material supplies an offline rehearsal/fallback. It may be used for classroom reasoning and print tasks, but it must never be presented as official local data or used to make real travel, safety, planning or community judgements.

Fieldwork boundary · W11

Where authorised, the intended core is teacher-selected local/on-site micro-fieldwork. The embedded virtual transect is the equal-status fallback or method rehearsal. Any live route is limited to a teacher-selected, centre-approved on-site route under the centre’s own supervision, risk assessment and access plan. No lone working, public interviews, faces, number plates, home addresses, personal routes, road/rail/river-edge access, industrial land or private property.

Absence, mobility, sensory load or weather does not lower attainment: use the constructed desk-based dataset and assess method/evaluation at the same disciplinary level.

Contrasting place · W13

Use a teacher-curated, rights-checked real contrasting-place pack or approved online resources for the core route where accessible. Record publisher, date, access date, definition and boundary/scale. The supplied fictional pair is the complete offline/equal-access fallback and must not be presented as a real community.

Data handling · W12

Preserve raw values separately, retain labelled blanks and make any correction traceable. A spreadsheet may be used when approved and available; the embedded table/graph is the equal offline route. Assess graph choice, evidence and interpretation—not typing or fine-motor speed.

Protected enquiry · W14

Freeze the approved evidence pack and access route before independent work. During the 20-minute outcome, adults may read, enlarge, chunk or transcribe exact words. They may not select evidence, supply reasoning, draft a sentence, reveal a model answer or improve the conclusion. Marking, teaching feedback and intervention happen only after completion under centre rules.

Lundy close

Space: stable adult/seat/deadline and no public grading. Voice: genuine written, verbal, map or recorded route. Audience: named adult reads/listens before recording. Influence: next source, method, scaffold or assessment condition changes, and the adult reports back what changed or why it could not.
