# Safety, truth and professional-use boundary

## General principle

A vivid simulation can make a process feel authorised or historically certain when it is neither. Every app therefore separates **design reasoning** from **permission to carry out a physical process**, and **historical theme** from **historical proof**.

## Physical safety

- Complete a setting-specific risk assessment before any workshop activity.
- Use age-appropriate, teacher-approved materials, tools, PPE, supervision and extraction.
- Follow manufacturer safety information and local procedures.
- Do not treat an app output as a load rating, cutting instruction, casting schedule, chemical recipe, safe working temperature, navigation chart or machinery setting.
- Hot-metal casting, powered tools and reactive chemical patination are outside the operational scope of this suite.
- The Token Foundry uses abstract fill/release bands; it contains no melt temperature or quench instruction.
- The Architectural Relief Lab contains virtual patina only; it contains no oxidiser formulation or powder specification.
- Steelplate spacing ratios are classroom geometry heuristics, not structural-design rules.
- The Hydro-Board cam profile is conceptual and not load-rated.

## Historical truth boundary

Every project record includes one of four statuses:

1. **Documented evidence** — supported by a cited primary or reliable secondary source.
2. **Evidence-based inference** — a reasoned interpretation that goes beyond the explicit source.
3. **Synthetic teaching model** — generated data or scenario used to explore a principle.
4. **Creative interpretation** — an artwork, fictional object or speculative reconstruction.

The smuggling chart, sounding grids, cutter, household model and tokens are synthetic or creative unless separately supported. A visually plausible object is not proof that a named employer, route or community used it.

## Safeguarding and data

- Prefer learner aliases in the apps and exported files.
- Review photographs before export; avoid unnecessary faces, names or sensitive background information.
- Store exported project and portfolio files under the setting’s normal retention and access controls.
- No data is sent to a server by the suite.

## Assessment boundary

The tools capture and organise evidence. They do not make automatic attainment, accreditation, moderation, safeguarding or professional competence decisions.
