Loop Walk Logger

One noticed loop per visit, logged in under a minute. Everything stays on this device — nothing is uploaded anywhere. Pupil initials only; no staff names, ever: this is a coaching tool, not a tally.

Before you start — what this tool holds.
  • What is captured: a date, a pathway, a subject/episode note with pupil initials only, four short observation notes, a strength, a coaching next step and a follow-up date.
  • Why: to coach practice. It is not a performance record, not a tally, and there are no staff names in it.
  • Where it stays: in this browser, on this device, in local storage. Nothing is sent anywhere — there is no server, no account and no sync. Another device shows an empty sheet.
  • Who can see it: anyone who can open this browser profile on this machine. Use an approved, school-owned device.
  • Retention: entries are useful for the current term. Clear them at the end of term; the termly pattern is what carries forward, not the rows. Review: end of each term.
  • Deletion: Clear all on this device, below the list. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
  • Export: Export CSV creates an ordinary file in your Downloads folder. Once exported it leaves this tool's protection — store it where pupil information belongs, and delete it when it has served its purpose.

PENDING-LOCAL-APPROVAL (DPO / SLT). Retention and device rules are proposed; the centre confirms them. Standard: quality/toolkits/DATA_GOVERNANCE.md.

Log a loop

Not for disclosures. These boxes record teaching practice. If a pupil tells you something that worries you, it goes to the DSL by the school’s safeguarding route — never into a box on this page. Record the practice here; record the concern there.

A reminder for you only. This tick is not saved, not stored and never exported — it holds no detail about any pupil, and it clears when you reload. The safeguarding record lives in the school’s own system.

Pathway
Anti-workload rule applies to leaders too: one good loop per walk is plenty. If nothing natural occurred, log nothing — an empty day is data, not failure.

Logged loops

Termly use: tap any entry → Print as vignette to produce the Impact Monitoring Crib proforma for that loop. Export the CSV before the end of term if you want a copy off this device.
