Source Assessment ★

AQA UAS ‘History around us’ + GCSE AO bridge · ★ protected assessed

🎯 Learning objective: I can independently use evidence to complete a protected source assessment.
⚖ substantiated judgement🔎 source provenance⏱ 40 min

◆ Supported

Retrieve one key judgement/evidence item from W6 thesis/source plan and agreed access contract.

▲ Standard

Retrieve the previous judgement and add one limitation/counter-evidence.

★ Stretch

State how the previous judgement could change under a different source, scale, person or interpretation.

👩‍🏫 I Do · model substantiation
🧠 Model one GCSE-bridge reasoning step at a time.
Teacher models assessment process/conditions only before assessed evidence begins.
During assessment, source utility/judgement remains the learner’s independent work; no live content coaching.
Post-assessment condition feedback is separate from answer enhancement.

🧠 Model one GCSE-bridge reasoning step at a time.
Assessment materials/conditions follow centre-approved task and access arrangements.
No upload/caption/edit until subject teacher authorises the normal route after completion.
After assessment, identify process/access feedback and teaching needs for W8/future work without altering the assessed response.

Independent mission

Complete the protected independent source assessment under centre-approved conditions/access. Substantiate utility judgements with content, provenance/context, corroboration/counter-evidence and limitation.

★ PROTECTED ASSESSMENT: once independent assessed evidence begins, no live historical answer coaching, no post-hoc answer enhancement and no tutor/upload workflow until the subject teacher authorises the normal route.
20 minutes. Access support does not supply the historical judgement.
◆ Use centre/lesson-approved access scaffold while keeping the historical judgement learner-owned.

Access stays; content prompts fade. W7 only uses pre-agreed centre-approved access.
▲ Build a substantiated judgement using evidence and limitation/counter-evidence.
