I Do

The Model β€” Tools and Equipment

Key Idea: Right tool, safe use, then clean and store.
Step 0 of 3

Choose the right tool.

Each job has a tool made for it. The right tool is safer and does the job better; forcing the wrong one risks a slip or a break.

Use it safely.

A firm grip, cutting or working away from your body and others, and full attention. If a tool needs training, use it only with staff.

Clean and store.

After use, clean the tool and return it to its place. This keeps it safe, working, and ready for the next person.

I Do

Proving It β€” The Evidence Loop

Key Idea: A task done with the right tool, safely, cleaned and stored, is real evidence.
Step 0 of 3

Documentarian

photo your tool in use and stored away.

Annotate

write β€˜I chose this tool because ___’.

Witness

staff sign your safe tool use.

For the moderator, not just the folder

A tick says it happened. A witness statement says what you did. Before the photo is filed, the adult writes one sentence naming the thing they actually saw you do — and rings whether you did it Supported, Standard or Stretch.

That ring is the part that counts. It is the difference between “the class did this” and “this candidate did it, at this level, with this much help.” The witness sheet prints with every pack.

We Do

Match the Tool to Its Job

🀝 With support

Task: Match tool cards to their job, then use one tool safely with an adult and store it.

Steps: One step at a time β€” adult support is right there. Photo it when you are proud of it.

πŸ‘€ On your own

Task: Choose the right tools for a task, use one safely, and clean and store the equipment.

Steps: Work it through β€” photo as you go, annotate at the end, witness tick before you pack up.

πŸš€ Take it further

Task: Select tools for a task, justify each choice, use them safely, and set up a tidy store.

Steps: Task first, justification second β€” say why each tool suits its job.

Lundy Loop
