I Do

The Model β€” Meeting an Employer

Key Idea: Prepare, present, then capture what you learned.
Step 0 of 3

Prepare β€” write open questions.

Open questions start with what, how or why: β€˜What does a normal day look like?’. Two or three prepared questions carry you through nerves.

Present β€” a calm first impression.

On time, a clear hello, eye contact, and listening. You do not need to be loud; calm and interested is a strong impression.

Capture β€” note what you learned.

Straight after, write what you found out. Those notes, plus a short thank-you, are your evidence of the encounter.

I Do

Proving It β€” The Evidence Loop

Key Idea: Your prepared questions and your notes are the evidence of the encounter.
Step 0 of 3

Documentarian

photo your prepared questions and your notes.

Annotate

write β€˜the most useful thing I learned was ___’.

Witness

staff sign that you met the visitor and engaged.

For the moderator, not just the folder

A tick says it happened. A witness statement says what you did. Before the photo is filed, the adult writes one sentence naming the thing they actually saw you do — and rings whether you did it Supported, Standard or Stretch.

That ring is the part that counts. It is the difference between “the class did this” and “this candidate did it, at this level, with this much help.” The witness sheet prints with every pack.

We Do

Match the Move to the Impression It Makes

🀝 With support

Task: Choose two question cards to ask the visitor, then tick what makes a good impression, with an adult.

Steps: One step at a time β€” adult support is right there. A prepared card you read out counts.

πŸ‘€ On your own

Task: Prepare three open questions, take part in the employer encounter, and note what you learned.

Steps: Work it through β€” photo as you go, annotate at the end, witness tick before you pack up.

πŸš€ Take it further

Task: Prepare open questions, engage in the encounter, note your learning, and draft a short thank-you.

Steps: Task first, thank-you second β€” make it specific to what you learned.

Lundy Loop

Lundy Loop β€” Your Voice on the Wall

Why: Article 12 β€” your questions to an employer are your voice, and they count.

πŸšͺ SPACE

The Careers Board tracks progress, never rankings β€” β€˜pass’ is always allowed, and reading a prepared question is fine.

πŸ“£ VOICE

Say one thing you most want to ask an employer. Your words.

πŸ‘₯ AUDIENCE

Your questions are yours β€” the board shows only the headline you choose.

⭐ INFLUENCE
