Review record

Scope: 120 current lessons: 78 Humanities lessons from Autumn 1 to Spring 2 and 42 RE lessons across Autumn 1 and 2. Each of the three pathways has 40 lessons. Fourteen missing Humanities Autumn 2 BUILD/GROW lessons were recovered from an earlier supplied pack and revised.

The supplied Humanities scheme also plans 39 Summer lesson slots. No matching created Summer lessons were in the reviewed packs. RE source planning covers Autumn only. Those periods are not represented as completed lessons.

Changes across the packs

Checks and remaining limits

All 120 HTML lessons passed automated DOM execution checks for the nine stages, route controls and their tested interactions, with no JavaScript errors or duplicate IDs. All 240 revised Word files were rendered; page-bound checks found no empty pages or text outside the page. PDF organisers were checked for one-page A4 output. Slide packages were validated and rendered. Representative and dense page layouts were visually reviewed. Eleven data workbooks were created; fieldwork blank/zero behaviour was tested.

Live browser layout, phone/touch behaviour and playback on a school device could not be verified here because the available browser blocked local files. Check those before teaching. Source restrictions are recorded separately. This is a resource review against the supplied pathway guidance, not an assessment of individual learners; adjust reading, communication and sensory support using their plans.

UAS evidence prompts are included, but the supplied material does not identify the centre’s approved unit codes or exact statements. Staff must map evidence to those selected units before claiming accreditation. Local fieldwork still needs a suitable location, consent and the centre’s normal arrangements.

Lesson-by-lesson record

Outcome and assessment below reproduce the supplied scheme. Each lesson folder contains the revised materials.

LAUNCH_S2_W01 · Causes of tectonic hazards

Outcome: Explain causes of tectonic hazards.

Assessment: F: explanation, map/data interpretation and two exit questions.

Shared activity: chain — Locate the Japan case and model subduction, sudden movement and seafloor displacement. Interpret the event’s magnitude and map.

Independent task: Build an evidence-based cause, effects and responses diagram. Interpret a map or graph using one accurate value. Make a case-study judgement distinguishing hazard from risk.

Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels

LAUNCH_S2_W02 · Tracking live hazards

Outcome: Track live hazards online and interpret data.

Assessment: F: data accuracy, interpretation and exit check.

Shared activity: live — Open the teacher-selected USGS feed and record its snapshot time. Read magnitude and depth as different variables.

Independent task: Capture a dated and timed live snapshot or use the explicitly dated archive if offline. Enter a small event set in the table and graph one variable. Identify a pattern and a conclusion limited to that snapshot.

Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels

LAUNCH_S2_W03 · Hazard effects and management

Outcome: Explain effects and management of a hazard.

Assessment: F: supported judgement, map/graph interpretation and two exit questions.

Shared activity: decision — Compare earthquake-resistant design, warnings and accessible routes. Match each response to the stated risk it addresses.

Independent task: Locate the Japan event and build a cause, effects and responses map. Interpret one data value or map feature. Judge a management response using a stated risk and a limitation.

Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels

LAUNCH_S2_W04 · Extreme weather and unequal risk

Outcome: Investigate extreme-weather hazards and risk.

Assessment: F: risk explanation and two exit questions.

Shared activity: sort — Read the July 2022 heatwave map and station data. Separate weather event, exposure and vulnerability.

Independent task: Explain the heatwave’s effects using the case evidence. Identify exposure and vulnerability separately. Evaluate one management response and explain which risk factor it addresses.

Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels

LAUNCH_S2_W05 · Analysing hazard data for a report

Outcome: Analyse hazard data in spreadsheets and produce a digital report.

Assessment: F: data accuracy, graph, interpretation and two exit questions.

Shared activity: graph — Transfer the selected heatwave station values into the spreadsheet. Choose a bar chart, label units and check the plotted values.

Independent task: Enter or check the case-study data and create a labelled graph. Write a digital report paragraph describing a pattern with values. State a limitation of the selected stations and data.

Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels

LAUNCH_S2_W06 · A hazard case-study report

Outcome: Complete a hazard case-study report.

Assessment: S: case-study outcome against unit criteria; retain best evidence.

Shared activity: portfolio — Audit a practice report against location, causes, effects, risk and management. Choose a useful map or graph and explain why it belongs.

Independent task: Produce an independent case-study report for Japan 2011 or the July 2022 heatwave. Include location, causes, effects, risk, management and a useful map or graph. Justify a judgement and evaluate a source or data limitation.

Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
