Review record
Scope: 120 current lessons: 78 Humanities lessons from Autumn 1 to Spring 2 and 42 RE lessons across Autumn 1 and 2. Each of the three pathways has 40 lessons. Fourteen missing Humanities Autumn 2 BUILD/GROW lessons were recovered from an earlier supplied pack and revised.
The supplied Humanities scheme also plans 39 Summer lesson slots. No matching created Summer lessons were in the reviewed packs. RE source planning covers Autumn only. Those periods are not represented as completed lessons.
Changes across the packs
- Matched the stated outcome, teaching sequence and assessment evidence to the supplied scheme; corrected internal examples, sources and datasets where they did not serve those aims.
- Linked worked models to relevant named evidence. Added retrieval prompts, supported/standard/stretch routes, independent organisers, printable shared-activity cards and teacher answers.
- Kept varied shared work: matching, sequencing, decisions, maps, source investigation, ranking, graphs, presentations and portfolios. Added keyboard-operated checks and feedback to card activities.
- Retained BUILD’s concrete and symbol-supported tasks, GROW’s explanation and comparison, and LAUNCH’s evidence and application. RE LAUNCH remains an adult-life pathway without GCSE marking bands.
- Rebuilt offline captioned teaching models and editable slides. Every lesson has a one-page A4 knowledge organiser, pupil pack and teacher notes.
Checks and remaining limits
All 120 HTML lessons passed automated DOM execution checks for the nine stages, route controls and their tested interactions, with no JavaScript errors or duplicate IDs. All 240 revised Word files were rendered; page-bound checks found no empty pages or text outside the page. PDF organisers were checked for one-page A4 output. Slide packages were validated and rendered. Representative and dense page layouts were visually reviewed. Eleven data workbooks were created; fieldwork blank/zero behaviour was tested.
Live browser layout, phone/touch behaviour and playback on a school device could not be verified here because the available browser blocked local files. Check those before teaching. Source restrictions are recorded separately. This is a resource review against the supplied pathway guidance, not an assessment of individual learners; adjust reading, communication and sensory support using their plans.
UAS evidence prompts are included, but the supplied material does not identify the centre’s approved unit codes or exact statements. Staff must map evidence to those selected units before claiming accreditation. Local fieldwork still needs a suitable location, consent and the centre’s normal arrangements.
Lesson-by-lesson record
Outcome and assessment below reproduce the supplied scheme. Each lesson folder contains the revised materials.
GROW_A2_W01 · Countries continents and oceans
Outcome: Locate countries continents and oceans using maps and atlases.
Assessment: F: map-skills check and independent location/pattern question.
Shared activity: map — Zoom from Teesside to the world. Locate the UK, India, Japan and their neighbouring oceans.
Independent task: Label the UK, India and Japan, their continents and two oceans. Use an atlas or the supplied map key. Answer independently: which country lies beside the Pacific Ocean?
Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
GROW_A2_W02 · Grid references and navigation
Outcome: Use an atlas and grid references to describe location.
Assessment: F: map-skills check and independent question.
Shared activity: map — Read eastings before northings on the practice grid. Set a partner a location challenge.
Independent task: Use the supplied grid to find three places. Give a four-figure reference and a direction between two places. Complete one new location question independently.
Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
GROW_A2_W03 · Connections across the world
Outcome: Describe how communities are connected across the world.
Assessment: F: explanation and two exit questions.
Shared activity: chain — Build a connection from Middlesbrough to Mumbai. Distinguish movement of people, goods and messages.
Independent task: Create a connection map for the fictional partner groups. Label both places and explain one link using the account. State that the example does not describe every community.
Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
GROW_A2_W04 · Festivals of light around the world
Outcome: Investigate festivals of light around the world with a Geography link.
Assessment: F: located example and reflection.
Shared activity: map — Locate India and the UK, then compare festival source details. Discuss why a celebration can be observed in several places.
Independent task: Locate one festival example on a map. Explain an accurate feature, its meaning and a connection between places. Record a short reflection using careful language.
Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
GROW_A2_W05 · Comparing belief and celebration
Outcome: Compare how two communities celebrate with an RE link.
Assessment: F: comparison grid and explanation.
Shared activity: sort — Sort source features into Diwali, Hanukkah or both. Test a claim that all celebrations involving light have the same meaning.
Independent task: Complete a comparison grid for D and H. Explain one similarity and one difference. Recognise variation within each community.
Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
GROW_A2_W06 · Presenting belief and belonging
Outcome: Present findings on belief and belonging.
Assessment: F: speaking checklist, questioning and reflection.
Shared activity: present — Assemble three points supported by source cards and a map. Practise answering a respectful evidence question.
Independent task: Plan and present three points on place, celebration and meaning. Use a visual and source reference. Answer one question and record self or peer feedback; live, recorded or private delivery is valid.
Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
GROW_A2_W07 · Belief and belonging review
Outcome: Complete a belief and belonging task and map skills check and bank UAS evidence.
Assessment: S: half-term review, map/source skill check and UAS evidence.
Shared activity: portfolio — Review what a map answer and a belief answer each need. Practise on different examples before the assessment.
Independent task: Complete an independent map task locating India, the UK and an ocean. Explain one festival feature and compare the two accounts. Select labelled unit evidence and record the support used.
Changes: Worked model linked to named relevant evidence; Arrival retrieval and pathway-specific supports; Task organiser and paper interaction cards; Consistent media transcript and source labels
