  • I can choose challenges that stretch ME
  • I can say why each one is a real stretch
  • I can commit to a first step this week
Aspire Β· choose one challenge you might FAIL β€” and say why it's still worth it.

I Do

The Model β€” Choose My Challenges

Key Idea: A challenge should stretch you β€” kindly.
Step 0 of 3

The Junior/Young Duke challenge areas.

The challenge areas cover kindness, eco, independence and enterprise β€” different muscles, same principle: choose your own stretch.

Choosing challenges that stretch you kindly.

A kind stretch sits just past comfortable: you'd need real effort, but you can picture yourself doing it. Too easy teaches nothing; too far teaches quitting.

Making a pledge you can keep.

A keepable pledge is specific and started this week β€” 'I'll be kinder' drifts; 'I'll help at the food bank Saturday' happens.

Proving It β€” The Evidence Loop

Key Idea: Launch extension: one written line β€” the challenge you nearly didn't pick, and why you hesitated.
Step 0 of 3

Documentarian

photo your pledge.

Annotate

'my challenge is ___'.

Witness

staff tick 'chose + pledged a challenge', sign.

For the moderator, not just the folder

A tick says it happened. A witness statement says what you did. Before the photo is filed, the adult writes one sentence naming the thing they actually saw you do — and rings whether you did it Supported, Standard or Stretch.

That ring is the part that counts. It is the difference between “the class did this” and “this candidate did it, at this level, with this much help.” The witness sheet prints with every pack.

🀝 With support

Task: Choose your challenge picture cards and place your pledge sticker on the wall yourself.

Steps: One step at a time β€” adult support is right there. Photo when you’re proud of it.

πŸ‘€ On your own

Task: Browse the challenge booklet, choose your challenges for the term and add your pledge to the wall.

Steps: Work the task through β€” photo as you go, annotate at the end, witness tick before you pack up.

πŸš€ Take it further

Task: Browse the challenge booklet, choose your challenges for the term and add your pledge to the wall. Stretch: choose one challenge you might FAIL β€” and say why it's still worth it.

Steps: Task first, stretch second β€” and your annotation should explain the why, not just the what.

Lundy Loop

Lundy Loop β€” Your Voice on the Wall

Why: Article 12 β€” your view counts here, and it genuinely changes what happens next.

πŸšͺ SPACE

The Challenge Wall celebrates attempts, not just wins β€” a challenge you tried and missed still earns its card, and 'pass' is always allowed.

πŸ“£ VOICE

Say the challenge you nearly did not pick. Naming the hesitation is part of it.

πŸ‘₯ AUDIENCE

The wall has witnesses β€” a pledge said out loud is twice as likely to happen.

⭐ INFLUENCE

The challenges pinned decide what we make time for in tutor time and on trips.
