Key Idea: A handover is planned, not lucky.

Planning a safe, calm handover / install.

A handover plan covers the sequence, the safety and the words: who carries, who speaks, who photographs — decided before, not discovered during.

Deciding who says and does what.

Who-does-what runs on strengths again: calm voices speak, strong pairs carry, the sharp eye documents. Same casting logic as the build.

Off-site checks under the Trips/Visits policy.

Off-site means the Trips and Visits policy runs the day: staffing, checks, the route — the boring paperwork that makes the exciting bit possible.

For the moderator, not just the folder

A tick says it happened. A witness statement says what you did. Before the photo is filed, the adult writes one sentence naming the thing they actually saw you do — and rings whether you did it Supported, Standard or Stretch.

That ring is the part that counts. It is the difference between “the class did this” and “this candidate did it, at this level, with this much help.” The witness sheet prints with every pack.

· Fine motor: offer the chunky-grip pen, and accept a card sort or a spoken answer scribed by an adult — the judgement is the evidence, not the handwriting.
· Sensory: Anything off-site or on a walk is the loud part. Ear defenders out before you leave the room, not after — and whoever needs it goes in the first pair, before group noise builds.
· Cognitive load: a completed small piece beats a half-done large one at moderation. Cut the target, never the thinking.
